Get Smart Education – Best Practices for Retail Showroom Success – for Pool & Spa Retailers

For the last two years, The Get Smart Group has partnered with Informa, the long-time producers of the International Pool Spa Patio & Deck Expo, to assist in producing the Retail Innovation Zone, a new area of the show that was included and designed to showcase “The Retail Showroom of the Future” and highlight innovative concepts for retail flow.

As production partners, our contribution has been in populating the TVs spaced throughout the retail innovation zone, with custom-designed slides of their participating sponsors as well as educational content culled from the brilliant minds of other partners like Jim Walz at Ideal Water Care, a long time consultant on retail design.

This year, Jim was interviewed before the event and we incorporated his tips for best practices into a multipart slideshow which were then shown constantly, rotating on each of the screens throughout the space over the course of the conference. These educational slides were interspersed with the sponsor slides we had also created, that ran for each participating manufacturer in the innovation zone.

During and after the conference, we received so much positive feedback about the educational content that we thought we ought to share the slides with our customer base. Since they are MP4 videos and thus, too large to send via email, we have posted them here so you can review them in order and utilize the tips presented within for your own retail space.

This was done so that you can highlight those products you carry on your screens – whether they be for water care, pool covers, pools, spas, saunas or massage chairs – your customers will be able to learn about those products quickly on the screens when visiting your showroom.

Digital signage sparks the sales conversations that modern consumers are usually reluctant to begin. It can shortcut the sales cycle and lead them to point to a photo or video displayed on your screen and direct you, “Please build me that exact pool.” This has happened to our digital signage customers, more than once.
