Being creative with marketing for pools and hot tubs is much more challenging than I thought it would be, but it’s always fun. However, if there’s anything I’ve learned during my time here at The Get Smart Group, it’s this: your creativity will only go so far without administration. That’s why it’s vital to balance your marketing with both creative and administrative skills.Â
Creative Aspects of Marketing
This is the fun part. This is where you brainstorm ideas on how to capture consumers’ attention, come up with catchy slogans, and craft colorful, attention-grabbing ads and social media images. It’s honestly one of my favorite parts of marketing. I can be as creative as I want to be. Whether I’m writing a blog post for a client about how to do hot tub yoga, crafting fun social media graphics, or creating and editing an upbeat video about gorgeous swimming pools, I always try to think outside of the box when it comes to pool and spa marketing.Â
Administrative Aspects of Marketing
The administration is where all of your creative ideas get put into action and come to fruition. I actually like the administrative aspects of marketing, as well. After I’ve spent all of my creative juices, it’s nice to take a brain break and plug everything into place. Setting up campaigns in social media platforms, plugging in audiences and budgets, setting run dates, and uploading all of the creative material I’ve come up with is as satisfying as checking off a to-do list.Â
The Balancing Act
When it comes to marketing, you can’t have one without the other; it needs both creativity and administrative action. As a Digital Marketing Assistant, I help out my team with a bit of everything, from content creation to ads management. As such, I walk on the tightrope between content creation and administrative management with my team members, and they’ve taught me a lot when it comes to balancing both the creative and administrative aspects of marketing. That’s what makes The Get Smart Group such a great team. While we’re each a little more creative or a little more administrative, we work together to produce impactful pool and spa marketing that gets results for our clients.
A Final Note About Balance
During this uncertain time, it is truly important to find balance in all things, whether it’s personal or for work. I am one of the lucky ones who has continued to work from home, business as usual. Well, maybe not business as usual, but I can’t say my work life has been interrupted or put on hold.Â
Even so, that doesn’t mean I’ve felt a bit stressed, as we all have. And while I am most definitely an introvert and will remain that way even after this is over, there were things I enjoyed going out and doing, too. I know it’s been the same for my team, extroverts and introverts alike.Â
So on behalf of The Get Smart Group, I want to encourage you to find balance at home. Pair one productive action with a relaxing one. Wash the dishes, then watch your favorite show. If you have a view of your TV from your sink like I do, wash the dishes while you watch TV. Or whatever other kinds of chores you have. Maybe do some yoga in a hot tub, if you have one. Something. Whatever makes you feel balanced during this time, do it. Take care.
